CFMoto has revealed deeper insights into their ambitious roadmap targeting a future entry onto the premier class grid by establishing a brand-new European racing headquarters. While the Chinese manufacturer already maintains a competitive presence in the intermediate and lightweight categories, their ultimate sights are firmly set on the pinnacle of grand prix motorcycle racing.
This major strategic step is marked by construction work underway on a dedicated racing department situated in Rimini, Italy. Located within the Emilia-Romagna region just over an hour away from Bologna—the traditional stronghold of Ducati—this sophisticated facility highlights the brand's determination to broaden its motorsport footprint significantly.
Samantha Liu, the general manager of the company’s Motorsports Management Centre, emphasized that the Italian technology hub is being constructed through intensive efforts to assemble personnel and finalize the infrastructure. Crucially, the facility is strategically positioned right beside their existing industrial design and R&D team in the same area to ensure seamless collaboration.

Addressing the scope of the project, Samantha Liu noted that the new center extends far beyond a single championship program. She explained that the high-class facility will elevate their technological capabilities, testing procedures, and overall engineering comprehension, acknowledging that while it is a long-term journey, the brand remains fully prepared to be patient and stick to its distinct strategy.
A premier class promotion is unlikely to materialize immediately given that all five incumbent manufacturers—Ducati, Aprilia, Honda, Yamaha, and KTM—are locked into a commercial agreement running through 2031. CFMoto's grand prix journey began back in 2022 in the lightweight class alongside PruestelGP before shifting ties through Pierer Mobility Group links to sponsor the Aspar squad.
These strong foundational ties with the Aspar setup and team owner Jorge Martinez Aspar provide a logical framework for future growth, alongside broader motorsport ambitions that include targeting WorldSBK with the upcoming V4 SR-RR sports bike and taking over as the official motorcycle supplier for the WorldWCR women's championship starting in 2027.
