Cameron Hill put Toyota on top in Friday afternoon's Enduro Cup test at Ipswich, setting a best time of 1:09.0810s on the #14 Supra's 72nd of 86 laps in the four-hour session.

He ended up 0.0080s ahead of the Grove Racing Mustang shared by Kai Allen and Tim Slade. It marked a positive end to a trying period for Toyota at the circuit, including the removal of their new B-spec engines on Monday following a failure in Chaz Mostert's Supra during Sunday's race.

Fords filled the rest of the top five via Will Brown/Scott Pye, Matt Payne/Will Davison, and James Golding/Richie Stanaway.

The afternoon featured two red flags. The first came just 25 minutes in when Harri Jones crashed heavily after a brake failure in Jack Le Brocq's Camaro, ending their day early. The Tickford Racing wildcard of Ben Gomersall/Campbell Logan later brought out the reds again after Gomersall ran into the gravel at the same corner.

Meanwhile, the sister Zach Bates/Aaron Seton car banked the most running of any car in the session with 104 laps, showing strong reliability.

Hill's pace signals a potential turnaround for Toyota after their technical woes, giving them confidence ahead of the next Enduro round.
