Formula 1, Sportrik Media - Cadillac F1 Team endured a disappointing end to the 2026 Austrian Grand Prix after both of its cars retired in the opening laps due to overheating brake issues.

Valtteri Bottas was the first to report a problem, informing the team over the radio that his brakes were on fire just a few laps into the race. The Finn returned to the pit lane where the car was immediately attended to with fire extinguishing equipment.

Moments later, team-mate Sergio Perez also reported smoke inside the cockpit. Cadillac called the Mexican into the pits and later confirmed that both retirements were caused by overheated brake systems.
