Cadillac has officially announced the arrival of three senior technical figures to bolster their Formula 1 team structure. Craig Skinner, Eric Blandin, and Tim Lean will join in the coming months, bringing experience from several of the sport's leading teams.
Skinner has been appointed Chief Development Engineer following a 20-year career with Red Bull. At the Milton Keynes-based team, he served as Chief Designer and contributed to their run of world championship success between 2021 and 2024. He will report to Chief Technical Officer Nick Chester and oversee technical direction through the development process, linking areas such as car concept, aerodynamic design, analysis, and delivery.
Meanwhile, Blandin has been entrusted as Head of Aerodynamics. The man who previously built his career at Mercedes and Aston Martin spent more than a decade as Chief Aerodynamicist at Mercedes before serving as Deputy Technical Director at Aston Martin. He will now lead Cadillac's growing aerodynamics department.
Lean completes the trio as Chief Engineer for Aerodynamics Modelling and Simulation. He brings over a decade of aerodynamic experience from McLaren, six years with Red Bull, and more than five years as Principal Aerodynamicist at Ferrari.
These appointments are part of Cadillac's continued expansion following their debut as F1's 11th team this season. The team has established a new UK headquarters at Silverstone, while construction of a larger facility in Fishers, Indiana, continues as part of their long-term infrastructure program.
The move also follows Marcin Budkowski's appointment as team principal during the summer break, replacing Graeme Lowdon. Budkowski emphasized that strengthening leadership across key technical areas will be central to enhancing the team's development capability.
“These appointments represent a vital step in the technical evolution of the team,” said Budkowski. “Bringing together experienced leadership across development, aerodynamics and modelling will help us create a stronger integrated technical organization and improve performance on track. Craig, Eric and Tim bring race and championship-winning experience to Cadillac F1 in areas that are central to our long-term development.”
All three are expected to begin their new roles within the next few months as Cadillac shifts increasing attention towards development of its 2027 challenger. The team has yet to score a point in 2026.
