Cadillac Appoints Budkowski as New Team Principal in Shock Move

Lowdon, a key figure in securing Cadillac's entry, was appointed team principal in December 2024. His departure is a significant loss for a team still in its infancy.

Budkowski brings a wealth of experience from roles at Prost, Ferrari, McLaren, Alpine, and the FIA. His technical acumen is expected to bolster Cadillac's performance on track.

"Cadillac Formula 1 Team has an extraordinary foundation and ambition," said Budkowski. He is focused on maximizing car development within the cost cap and building an elite organization with a winning mindset. His priority is aligning people, tools, and information flow to make quick, correct decisions and improve the car's performance every race.

Budkowski's first test will come at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort next weekend, where he will lead the team's on-track efforts for the first time.
