Bulega in Awe of Marquez: 'Only He Could Do It with One and a Half Arms'

Nicolo Bulega once again showcased his dominance in WorldSBK with a victory at Magny-Cours, but the standout moment was his admiration for Marc Marquez. The Ducati rider said only Marquez could perform impressively despite physical limitations.

Bulega praised Marquez's resilience in MotoGP, noting that his ability to remain competitive despite arm injury is extraordinary and unique to a rider of his caliber.

Dominance at Magny-Cours and Tire Strategy

Bulega's win at Magny-Cours was underpinned by a mature tire management strategy. He credited his teammate Alvaro Bautista and rival Toprak Razgatlioglu for teaching him how to preserve the rear tire.

Bulega explained that the key to his success was discipline in throttle application, especially in the second half of the race. Despite briefly losing the lead to Iker Lecuona early on, he regained control thanks to consistent race pace.

“I always try to be smooth with the throttle and save the rear tire. It might cost me a few tenths, but it pays off at the end,” he said.

Records and Historic Ambitions

The victory brought Bulega's career tally to 44 WorldSBK wins, surpassing legend Noriyuki Haga in the all-time winners list. He also celebrated his 18th pole position, a proud achievement.

“It's my third year in Superbike, and seeing my name alongside these legends is a dream come true,” Bulega said. With this performance, he strengthens his championship lead and looks ahead to the next rounds.
