Braydan Willmington, son of Bathurst 1000 stalwart Garry Willmington, is set to make his V8 SuperUtes debut at the Bathurst 1000 on October 8-11. He will pilot a Toyota HiLux owned by Jason Norris and run by Apogee Motorsport.
The Willmington name is synonymous with Australian motorsport, particularly at Mount Panorama. Garry Willmington was a regular at the Bathurst 1000 from 1978 to 2000, and now his son gets a chance to carve his own legacy at the iconic circuit.
Matt Nolan will also make his return to the series with Sieders Racing Team, replacing Anthony Jewell who drove the Mitsubishi Triton at Wanneroo. This marks Nolan's first appearance since Sandown last year, and he will be eager to make an impression.

Michael Sherwell is the only notable absentee, unavailable due to family and business commitments. There is hope he will return later in the season. His absence opens up opportunities for others in the field.
The Bathurst 1000 signals the start of the second half of the V8 SuperUtes season. Following Mount Panorama, the series moves to Surfers Paradise for the Gold Coast 500 on October 23-25, before concluding at the Adelaide Grand Final on November 26-29. Three challenging circuits with distinct characteristics will test the drivers' adaptability.
The entry list for Bathurst boasts 21 drivers across multiple manufacturers including Mazda BT-50, Isuzu DMAX, Ford Ranger, Holden Colorado, Mitsubishi Triton, and Toyota HiLux. The battle among manufacturers is expected to be fierce, with experienced campaigners like David Sieders, Aaron Borg, and Jason Norris in the mix.
For Braydan Willmington, this debut is more than just another race. It's a chance to continue a family tradition at a track where his father once thrived. The pressure will be on, but the opportunity to shine at Mount Panorama is one he will relish.
