MotoGP, Sportrik Media - KTM Factory Racing rider Brad Binder has delivered a candid assessment of his 2025 MotoGP season, rating it a mere three out of ten. In a recent interview, he highlighted the significant challenges faced alongside the KTM team.

Binder, a standout talent since joining MotoGP in 2020, has yet to secure a podium in 2025. His best result—a fourth-place finish at the Indonesian Grand Prix—places him 11th in the championship, trailing teammate Pedro Acosta by 97 points.

Performance Struggles in 2025

Binder openly addressed the difficulties encountered this season. “It’s been a really challenging year. We’re lacking speed,” he stated in an interview with the official MotoGP website. He noted that achieving a podium, once within reach, now feels significantly harder. Unlike previous seasons, Binder struggles to align all elements for a competitive result.

Moreover, KTM as a team faces similar hurdles. While teammate Pedro Acosta has shone with a second-place finish in Indonesia, Binder continues to search for consistency. “We need to regain our pace together,” he emphasized, underscoring the importance of collective effort.

Contrast with Teammate’s Success

Acosta’s strong performances, particularly after KTM’s mid-season upgrades, highlight the gap within the team. Acosta has been a consistent podium contender, while Binder lags behind. Other riders, such as Enea Bastianini, have also secured podiums in 2025, though Maverick Vinales lost one due to a tire pressure violation.

Reflecting on past successes, including his 2021 Austrian Grand Prix win, Binder acknowledged the shift. “In previous years, podiums weren’t that hard to achieve. Now, everything needs to be perfect to compete at the front,” he said.

With four races remaining in the 2025 season, Binder and KTM have opportunities to turn things around. The focus remains on improving bike speed and race consistency. Binder remains hopeful that the team’s efforts will yield better results in the final rounds.

Sportrik Media will continue to track Binder and KTM’s progress, anticipating a return to form for the South African rider.
