The fierce action of the Formula 1 weekend continues at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez with the third practice session and the crucial qualifying showdown. The paddock atmosphere is heating up alongside a golden opportunity for Andrea Kimi Antonelli to clinch his maiden world championship title if he finishes in ninth position or higher during Sunday's main race. The young Italian driver showed competitive pace by securing the fourth-fastest time on Friday afternoon, though he still trailed his Mercedes teammate, George Russell, on the timing sheets.

Meanwhile, Scuderia Ferrari once again displayed a highly promising start to the weekend, mirroring their strong form from COTA. Charles Leclerc set the pace by going fastest in both practice sessions aboard his upgraded SF-26 machine. However, the Maranello-based squad faced a minor setback as his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, could only manage eleventh place after suffering mechanical issues during the second practice session.

A tricky situation also faces Max Verstappen, who finished fifth in FP2. The Red Bull driver has been handed a one-place grid penalty for Sunday's race following a collision with Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson on Friday. The Kiwi driver has also received an identical one-place grid drop for his part in the incident. Elsewhere, Isack Hadjar is currently under scrutiny for an separate incident involving a fan while walking through the paddock area.
