The race weekend at the Mandalika Circuit brought a unique battle for Alex Marquez with the Gresini Racing squad, especially following the challenging results he faced at the previous round in Japan. Starting the Indonesian GP from the third row, the Spanish rider admitted that the qualifying session was far from smooth, failing to secure top lap times to break into the front rows.
Although he directly advanced to Q2, the rider had to settle for the eighth grid spot alongside Pedro Acosta. However, he managed to maximize the Sprint race by capitalizing on rival incidents and penalties, ultimately crossing the finish line in fifth place.
Entering the grueling 27-lap main race under intense heat, a survival strategy became the primary focus for the Gresini rider. The team paid close attention to medium tire management to prevent a total grip collapse before the checkered flag, a tactic that worked for the most part despite facing a late-race drop in performance.

Amidst the fierce competition, Fabio Di Giannantonio was among those overtaken by Alex Marquez in the closing stages. Crossing the line in seventh place with a six-second gap to the winner proved to be a solid achievement, especially as championship contenders like Francesco Bagnaia crashed out of the main race.
According to Speedweek reports, this consistent performance at Mandalika successfully lifted the number 73 rider up to eighth place in the overall standings. Meanwhile, the dramatic weekend also saw his teammate suffer a heavy crash resulting in a hand injury.
