Alex Marquez Confirms Multiple Options for MotoGP 2027

MotoGP, Sportrik Media - The future of Alex Marquez is expected to become clearer in the coming months, after the MotoGP championship runner up confirmed that he has several team options available for the 2027 season.

The Gresini Racing rider has emerged as one of the most closely watched names on the rider market following his strong and consistent performances. Recent rumours have linked Marquez with KTM, but he has stressed that remaining with Gresini remains his priority due to familiarity and emotional connection.

“I have a few options,” Marquez said during a media scrum.
“The most solid offer is from Gresini, because I know the team very well, I know everything about it, and there is also the emotional side, which is important for a rider.”

Marquez acknowledged that the 2027 rider market is particularly unpredictable, with multiple teams seeking proven top level talent to anchor their long term projects. As a result, any decision carries an element of risk.

“I could take a risk for one year, and that would happen next year because nobody really knows which path is the best,” he explained.
“That is why the rider market has gone crazy. All teams want top riders.”

Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Marquez insists he is approaching the situation calmly, noting that he already has a clear understanding of the options currently available to him.

“At the moment, I am quite relaxed,” he said.
“I more or less know what options are on the table, but I am still working through them and then I will decide.”

Marquez also outlined his preferred timeline for reaching a final decision, aiming to secure clarity before the most critical phase of the pre season.

“If I can decide before the Thailand test, then I will do it,” he added.
“If not, I will wait a little longer.”

“I want my future to be settled before the first race. Then I will see what I will do in 2027. I already have a fairly clear idea.”

With several manufacturers monitoring his situation closely, Alex Marquez’s decision is expected to play a significant role in shaping the MotoGP grid beyond 2026, influencing both team strategies and the wider dynamics of the rider market.
