Alex Marquez set the fastest time in Practice for the Japanese MotoGP at Mobility Resort Motegi, establishing a new all-time lap record with a 1:42.811. The BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider continued his family’s strong form after his brother, Marc Marquez, topped FP1 earlier in the weekend.
Pedro Acosta finished second after carrying momentum from his victory at the Austrian GP. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider was just 0.024 seconds behind Marc Marquez, who placed third for Ducati Lenovo Team.
Marco Bezzecchi was the fastest Aprilia Racing rider in fourth, followed by Enea Bastianini in fifth for Red Bull KTM Tech3. Fabio Di Giannantonio and Fabio Quartararo completed sixth and seventh, while championship leader Jorge Martin had to work harder to secure eighth and direct passage into Q2.

Practice was also interrupted by crashes involving rookie Diogo Moreira and Johann Zarco. Both riders were able to continue the weekend, with Moreira finishing ninth and Zarco 10th.
Francesco Bagnaia, meanwhile, continued to struggle over a single lap. The Ducati Lenovo Team rider failed to break into the top 10 for the sixth consecutive time since the Sachsenring and will once again have to go through Q1 in qualifying.
The same fate befell home favourite Ai Ogura. The SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team rider missed out on the top 10 after the session was briefly stopped by a red flag when his bike began producing smoke at Turn 1. Ogura returned on his second bike but could not recover enough ground to secure a direct place in Q2.
With Alex Marquez setting a new lap record at Motegi, attention now turns to FP2 and qualifying. FP2 is scheduled for Saturday at 08:10 WIB, followed by qualifying at 08:50 WIB.
