WorldSBK, Sportrik Media - Alex Lowes of the Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team believes he is operating at the highest level of his WorldSBK career in 2025, at the age of 35, following a clear rise in consistency and race control.

Lowes’ World Superbike journey began in 2014 with Suzuki, before progressing through Yamaha and Kawasaki. His move to the Bimota project marked a new phase, after years in which his raw speed was frequently offset by errors at critical moments during races.

A decisive turning point came in the 2024 season, when Lowes secured two victories, 12 podium finishes, and fourth place in the riders’ standings. That upward trajectory carried into 2025, where he finished outside the top six only twice, one of those results stemming from a crash while leading Race 1 at Donington Park, underlining the broader picture of sustained competitiveness.

From a technical perspective, Lowes’ progress has been driven by a more measured riding approach, consistent tyre management, and a development direction aligned with WorldSBK homologation regulations. This combination has allowed him to maintain race pace over full distances while reducing the error rate that previously compromised results against leading rivals.

“I was working until I was 21, so my background is different from many of the riders I race against. It’s normal that my best level comes a bit later. Mentally, I still feel fresh and not burnt out,” Lowes said in an official statement.

“When I was younger, I pushed beyond the limit too often. Now I use my experience better, on and off the bike. I’ve taken pressure off myself, and I feel I’m riding at my best and still improving,” he added.

This maturity in approach has delivered direct benefits to Bimota’s consistency in the constructors’ standings, while positioning Lowes as a stable reference in the fight at the front of the field. As the 2025 season moves into its decisive phases, his controlled performance profile remains a key factor shaping the WorldSBK competitive landscape.
