Alex Dunne topped Qualifying 1 for the 2026 Formula 2 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku. The Rodin Motorsport driver set a 1:55.383 to lead the first of two qualifying sessions at the Baku City Circuit.
Martinius Stenshorne finished second, just 0.033 seconds behind Dunne. His Rodin Motorsport team-mate was followed by Campos Racing's Noel Leon, who was 0.134 seconds off the pace.
Kush Maini and Rafael Camara completed the top five. Maini finished 0.230 seconds behind Dunne, while Camara was another 0.008 seconds further back.
Championship leader Nikola Tsolov qualified 10th with a gap of 0.574 seconds. The Campos Racing driver is provisionally set to start the Sprint from pole position, although the result remains subject to the stewards' investigations.
Tsolov is among several drivers being investigated for allegedly driving unnecessarily slowly. Dunne and Stenshorne are also among the drivers listed for investigation following the session.
Qualifying 1 lasted 20 minutes and ran at a slower pace than Qualifying 2, with no refuelling taking place between the two segments. The session determined the provisional starting order for the Sprint and Feature Race 1 in Baku.
Mari Boya was sixth, ahead of Sebastian Montoya, Dino Beganovic, Laurens van Hoepen and Tsolov. The qualifying classification remains provisional pending the outcome of the stewards' investigations.
