Ai Ogura has revealed the cause of his crash in the MotoGP race at Silverstone. The Trackhouse Racing rider admitted a technical error under braking at the final chicane, which sent him crashing from fifth place on lap 10.

According to Ogura, there was no room for excuses. "A bit more angle with the same amount of brake pressure," he explained to media after the race. The incident proved costly, as Ogura lost 20 points to championship leader Jorge Martin, who now holds a 37-point advantage over the Japanese rider.

Despite the significant points loss, Ogura believes his performance is still on par with other Aprilia riders. "I feel like we all are very close," he said. "In one weekend, two guys are really strong; in another weekend, another two guys are really strong. There will be up-and-down, but it's really small."

Ogura also highlighted a technical issue with his start device. "When I was braking for turn one, the rear device didn't disengage, so I lost a couple of positions. Nothing scary, I just couldn't lean like usual," he stated.

With the crash, Ogura acknowledged that a podium finish was unlikely. "I think it was very difficult to do that today. After the crash, I was watching the race. Alex Marquez had a really good pace, catching Bez, and their pace was pretty good too, so probably P5 was possible," he concluded.
