Sanctioned by the Australian Auto Sport Alliance (AASA), the championship underscores Sandown's status as a historic suburban Melbourne venue that remains a key fixture on the national motorsport calendar. With a two-race format, teams will need to balance speed with consistency in fuel management, tyres, and pit strategy.
A host of support categories will add to the weekend's action. Continuing the endurance theme, the Hyundai Excel Racing Association of Victoria will run the David Lowe Memorial Enduro. For the first time ever, this prestigious event will be held at Sandown, bringing extra cachet and attracting large fields and high-profile drivers from the Victorian racing scene.
BMW E30 Racing will also hold non-championship endurance races, adding variety and nostalgia for classic car fans. Meanwhile, Sports Compact will cover sprint racing, marking its second call-up to support a national championship after appearing on the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series undercard at Sydney Motorsport Park in July.
Rounding out the packed schedule are the Australian Drivers’ Championship and Stock Car Australia, offering a diverse spectrum of racing from formula to stock cars. One final category is yet to be announced, promising additional excitement for spectators at the circuit.
