After a three-week summer break, MotoGP is back. Silverstone is set to host the start of the second half of the 2026 season with the British Grand Prix this weekend (7-9 August).
Championship leader Jorge Martin of Aprilia arrives with a slender advantage. Just 24 points separate the top three riders, so the lead could change hands at any moment. The paddock is buzzing with anticipation for a race that promises a fierce battle between Aprilia and Ducati.
Ducati's Marc Marquez is one of the strong contenders. However, attention is also on Marco Bezzecchi, last year's winner at Silverstone. Bezzecchi has admitted his chances of repeating that success are slim, as he hasn't fully recovered from the collarbone injury sustained at the Sachsenring last month.
The weekend schedule kicks off with Free Practice 1 (FP1) on Friday (7/8) at 11:45 BST, followed by the more crucial Practice session at 16:00 BST. Saturday (8/8) will be decisive for the grid, with FP2 at 11:10, qualifying at 11:50, and the Sprint at 16:00 BST.
The main event, the British Grand Prix race, takes place on Sunday (9/8) at 13:00 BST. With such a tight championship fight, every session will be vital. Who will emerge as the new leader after Silverstone? We'll see.
