Ducati's presence in the WorldSBK championship for the 2027 season is taking clearer shape as Motocorsa officially confirms its rider lineup. Fielding nine machines, the Italian manufacturer continues to dominate nearly half of the 22-rider grid in the premier production-based motorcycle racing series.
Uncertainty regarding the exact number of bikes for 2027 has largely dissipated. Aruba and Barni will field two riders each, while Marc VDS, Advocates, and Motocorsa will run single-bike entries. Although MGM is expected to withdraw at the end of the season, Go Eleven will compensate by expanding from one bike to two.
With eight of the nine riders already secured, just a single question mark remains over the second seat at Go Eleven. The final spot will go to either Italian Superbike Champion Alessandro Delbianco or veteran rider Danilo Petrucci.
Meanwhile, Motocorsa has put an end to rumors by officially confirming that Alberto Surra will remain with the squad for 2027. The young Italian's impressive adaptation to the heavier and more powerful Superbike machinery earned him a well-deserved contract extension.
“We are very happy to continue our collaboration with Alberto in 2027,” stated Team Manager Lorenzo Mauri. “The 2026 season has given us so much: we have gotten to know each other, mastered important moments together, and built a relationship based on deep mutual trust. Third place in the Superpole race in Cremona was one of the highlights and showed the potential we share.”
Surra's stellar campaign has silenced initial doubts following his transition from the intermediate grand prix classes, establishing himself firmly inside the top ten of the overall standings heading into the final stages of the championship.
