The battle for the 2026 MotoGP world championship is intensifying dramatically with just five rounds remaining in the season, setting up a thrilling title fight between the premier class manufacturers. Marc Marquez remains deeply entrenched in the championship hunt aboard his Ducati, holding strong against fierce competition at the top of the standings.
As the stakes reach an all-time high, discussions regarding potential team orders have dominated the paddock, particularly following a dominant performance by their Italian rivals at the previous round in Indonesia. Despite the mounting pressure, Ducati has made it clear that it has no intention of restricting its riders, maintaining a philosophy of allowing free racing on the track.
Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi dismissed any concerns regarding rival strategies, echoing the exact sentiment expressed by his star rider earlier in the weekend regarding pure pace and performance over manufactured assistance. Tardozzi emphasized that the factory squad's sole priority is optimizing on-track speed rather than worrying about external tactical moves.

"I would like to use what Marc said: 'if you are fast, you don't need help'. That's it," Tardozzi told MotoGP.com when asked about the rival camp's tactical discussions. Asked if team orders would diminish a potential championship success, he firmly stated, "They can do whatever they want. We are trying to focus only to be fast on track."
On the other side of the pitlane, Aprilia acknowledged holding internal meetings with its four riders ahead of the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island to establish clear guidelines. While admitting every single point matters during the final year of the current technical cycle, Aprilia team manager Paolo Bonora noted that it remains too early to enforce strict team orders, prioritizing clean racing and avoiding costly intra-squad collisions above all else.
