Charles Leclerc delivered a candid assessment of his chaotic sprint race at the Marina Bay circuit during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend. The Monegasque driver found himself instantly bypassed by his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who launched off the line with incredible speed to catch the rest of the grid by surprise during the opening moments.
Securing a third-place finish in the 100-kilometer dash brought valuable points and a podium trophy, even if sprint events carry lesser championship weighting. Leclerc described the Saturday afternoon encounter as an emotional roller coaster, having initially dropped to fourth position at the lights out before capitalizing on an incident involving George Russell to reclaim a spot in the top three.
Speaking to broadcasters after the checkered flag, the Ferrari driver joked about the unbearable proximity of his chasing rivals. He remarked that it was fortunate Formula 1 machines do not feature horns, because he certainly would have heard them blaring due to how close the opposition managed to get during the tense final laps of the stint.

Technical hurdles heavily influenced the latter half of his race stint as severe front tire degradation began to bite. Leclerc reported suffering from massive understeer starting around the third or fourth lap, which caused front tire temperatures to skyrocket and turned the defense of his podium position into an exhausting physical and mental battle.
Team engineers are now weighing potential set-up adjustments ahead of the remaining sessions under parc ferme conditions. With weather forecasts predicting potential rain, the squad acknowledges that their current low-ride height approach optimized for dry asphalt may require a complete rethink if wet weather conditions arrive.
