The Brian Uriarte qualifying session at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit delivered high-stakes action on Saturday morning. The talented young rider put on an impressive display to secure the coveted front-row start for the Moto3 class at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia. On the challenging asphalt of the Indonesian venue, he successfully set a benchmark time that remained unmatched by his closest competitors.
Relying on the strong performance of his machine, the standout Red Bull KTM Ajo rider immediately laid down the law early in the Q2 session. He clocked a sensational lap time of 1'36.861, instantly jumping to the top of the timing sheets. This impressive speed ultimately proved unbeatable for the rest of the field, cementing his authority at the front of the grid for the upcoming race.
However, the path to pole position was far from straightforward as tension immediately escalated when Rico Salmela crashed early on, triggering yellow flags. This situation disrupted fast lap attempts for several major contenders, including Max Quiles, who had entered Q2 as one of the primary favorites following his stellar form during earlier practice sessions.

The drama heightened further when Max Quiles himself suffered a crash. The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider lost control at turn 16, forcing him to limp back to the pitlane empty-handed. Being unable to improve his lap time in the closing stages due to the incident, he slipped down the order and was forced to settle for a disappointing sixth place on the starting grid.
Taking full advantage of the unfolding drama, David Almansa came closest to denying the polesitter. The Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP rider posted a 1'36.948, slotting into second position just 0.087 seconds shy of the top spot. Meanwhile, Red Bull KTM Ajo completed a stellar team result as Alvaro Carpe secured third place.
The fierce battle continued down the order, with Leopard Racing's Adrian Fernandez claiming fourth, followed by teammate Guido Pini in fifth. In the earlier Q1 session, Scott Ogden topped the timesheets ahead of Hakim Danish and David Munoz, while Leo Rammerstorfer surprised many by grabbing the final Q2 transfer spot by a razor-thin margin over Valentin Perrone.
