The situation escalated further when a late Safety Car was deployed following a heavy crash involving Chaz Mostert's Walkinshaw TWG Racing entry, wiping out the substantial gap De Pasquale had carefully built. Despite frantic attempts to nurse the machine home, the deficit proved insurmountable as the checkered flag loomed.

De Pasquale coasted to a halt at The Chase after his powerplant sputtered and died on Mountain Straight, handing a surprise repeat victory to Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood at Dick Johnson Racing.
