The FIA has sent its best wishes to Harland, a marshal at the 2026 Austrian Grand Prix, after he suffered a heart emergency before Sunday's race at the Red Bull Ring.
Harland was airlifted to a nearby hospital before the Grand Prix got under way. The governing body confirmed he received medical treatment and wished him a full and speedy recovery.
"The FIA's thoughts are with Harland, a marshal at the Austrian Grand Prix, who suffered a heart emergency before Sunday's race. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he received medical treatment," the FIA stated.

"We wish Harland a full and speedy recovery, extend our best wishes to his family and loved ones, and thank him for his dedication and commitment to our sport," the statement continued.
The medical emergency occurred before a race later won by George Russell. Max Verstappen finished second and received strong support from the large crowd, including many travelling Dutch fans during Red Bull Racing's home event.
The incident again underlined the essential role marshals play in Formula 1 safety operations. Their presence trackside remains fundamental to every race weekend, particularly when cars, debris or emergency situations must be handled quickly.
