Severe weather conditions lashing the Phillip Island circuit have forced race organizers to make the difficult decision of cancelling the Moto3 race this weekend. Heavy rainfall combined with dense fog caused visibility to drop dramatically, creating an extremely hazardous environment for the young riders competing on the high-speed layout.
The primary reason behind this drastic schedule modification was not merely the standing water on the asphalt, but rather a critical failure in medical safety protocols. Reduced visibility grounded the medical helicopter completely, rendering it impossible to proceed with the racing event safely in the event of any severe rider injuries.
Prior to the official cancellation announcement, Sunday's running order had already suffered a cascade of lengthy delays. Race control repeatedly pushed back track activities while monitoring meteorological updates around the coastal Victorian venue, ultimately prioritizing adjustments for the premier class schedule instead.

Confirming the official verdict, race direction stated through an update: "Due to the delays caused by the poor visibility affecting the medical helicopter, the decision has been taken to cancel the Moto3 race at the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia." This abrupt change effectively cuts a crucial racing installment from the weekend itinerary.
Nevertheless, stripping away this single encounter at Phillip Island will ultimately have zero repercussions on the championship standings. Both the Riders' and Constructors' world titles have already been securely claimed earlier by Maximo Quiles and Austrian manufacturer KTM, leaving the overarching championship outcome entirely undisturbed.
