The United States Grand Prix weekend at the Circuit of the Americas kicked off with intense competitive action as Charles Leclerc immediately surged to the top of the timesheets during Friday's practice sessions. The Maranello squad introduced their final major aerodynamic upgrade package of the season, featuring revisions to the floor, diffuser, and bodywork of the SF-26.
During the opening practice session, the Italian team opted for a cautious comparative test, equipping Leclerc's car with the new developments while Lewis Hamilton ran the older specification. Following positive data correlation feedback, the team decided to install the updates on both cars for the second practice session, yielding contrasting driver responses.
While Leclerc felt instantly comfortable and dedicated significant time to long-run race pace simulations, Hamilton struggled to string together a clean lap. Leclerc thrives in a responsive car with a sharp front end, whereas the British driver prefers a more stable rear end and continues to search for the ideal setup compromise to extract maximum performance from the new parts.

Competition at the sharp end remains fierce, with Max Verstappen maintaining his usual menacing pace and Mercedes showcasing strong underlying potential. Although a FIA adjustment regarding electric motor power deployment slightly limited Ferrari's advantage through the twisty early section, the Scuderia starts the weekend on a strong footing.
Ferrari's aerodynamic efficiency continues to shine through the complex corners of the Texas venue, setting up what promises to be a thrilling battle for pole position and race victory against their main championship rivals.
