Swedish teenager Alexia Danielsson has been officially confirmed as the latest wildcard entry for the upcoming F1 Academy penultimate round at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin next month. The 17-year-old rising star is set to make her highly anticipated series debut representing the championship's Official Partner, TeamViewer, amidst an electrifying Grand Prix weekend atmosphere.
Despite her rookie status for the race weekend, Danielsson is already well-acquainted with the machinery used in the all-female single-seater series. Earlier in the month, she partook in the Navarra Rookie Test, where she brilliantly posted the second-fastest overall time, proving her immediate adaptability and impressive pace behind the wheel of the category's car.
Danielsson's motorsport journey has been forged through competitive stints across various feeder series categories. Her single-seater credentials began in 2022 within the Aquilia Formula 1000 championship. Over a two-year campaign, she consistently fought at the sharp end, securing seventh in the drivers' standings alongside a notable podium finish and a pole position to her credit.
Following her early successes, the talented Swede progressed into the Nordic 4 championship for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, while also showcasing her versatility by winning on her very debut in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia. Prior to her upcoming F1 Academy outing, she also gained valuable wheel-to-wheel combat experience in the Formula 4 CEZ Championship, scoring points on multiple occasions.
Reflecting on this monumental career milestone, Danielsson expressed immense excitement about taking a crucial step forward toward fulfilling her long-term motorsport aspirations.
"Racing at COTA in front of such a huge crowd, right in the middle of a Formula 1 weekend. It will be an experience I will never forget and something I can build on going forward," Danielsson stated, emphasizing her eagerness to learn the fast-paced nature of the championship's race weekend format.
