Alex Albon admitted that early race battles became a major talking point for the Williams squad following a challenging weekend at the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin. The Thai driver had to settle for a 17th-place finish after getting involved in a controversial Turn 11 incident with Fernando Alonso, which drew sharp criticism from the Spanish veteran regarding the opening lap maneuver.
Despite finishing well outside the points-paying positions, Albon attempted to salvage some encouraging takeaways from the event at the Circuit of The Americas. He noted that he made a strong start and thoroughly enjoyed several wheel-to-wheel fights on a layout traditionally favorable for overtaking, even though early car damage and a lengthy hard-tire stint severely hindered his progress.

Meanwhile, similar drama unfolded for his teammate as Carlos Sainz found himself squeezed toward the wall right after the start by rookie contender Arvid Lindblad. The contact inflicted immediate damage to the Spaniard's front wing, forcing an early pit stop that severely compromised his primary stint strategy.
Despite the early setback ruining his afternoon, Sainz managed to recover decent race pace before ultimately crossing the finish line directly behind his garage neighbor. The Grove-based outfit must now regroup quickly and address their overall lack of pace ahead of the upcoming Mexican round.
