Dakar, Sportrik Media – Nasser Al Attiyah of Dacia reclaimed control of the Dakar Rally 2026 by winning Stage 6 from Ha il to Riyadh, leading a Dacia one two finish with team mate Sebastien Loeb.

Over the 326 km competitive stage, Al Attiyah seized the lead from Joao Ferreira early on and then resisted pressure from Seth Quintero and Loeb in the second half of the stage. The five time Dakar winner secured victory with a margin of 2 minutes 26 seconds over Loeb.

A difficult day for Henk Lategan of Toyota allowed Al Attiyah to retake the overall lead. The Qatari now leads by 6 minutes 10 seconds, marking his first time at the top of the standings since the end of Stage 2 in what is becoming a three manufacturer battle.

Loeb’s late charge from eighth to second gave him his first stage podium since Dakar 2024 and lifted him back into the overall fight. Quintero finished third for Toyota Gazoo Racing, while Toby Price produced a strong drive to fourth, pushing Ferreira down to fifth.

The Ford camp saw Nani Roma and Carlos Sainz finish sixth and seventh, while Mattias Ekstrom endured a difficult day in 13th. Mathieu Serradori of Century Racing took eighth ahead of Guy Botterill and Eryk Goczal.

In the overall standings, Loeb climbed to sixth for Dacia, displacing Mitch Guthrie of Ford after he was forced to open the stage following his previous day victory. With the rally now heading into its rest day before the 462 km Stage 7 to Wadi Ad Dawasir, the Dakar Rally 2026 title fight is reaching a critical phase at https://sportrik.com/en.
