Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team has officially unveiled its new livery for the 2026 MotoGP season during a launch event held at Villa Miani in Rome, Italy, on Wednesday, 14 January 2026. The team owned by Valentino Rossi introduced an aggressive new design titled “Black and Light”, marking a clear return to a more race-focused interpretation of VR46’s visual identity.

The 2026 livery represents a decisive shift compared to recent seasons. After two years featuring a strong white base, the Ducati Desmosedici GP is now dominated by deep black bodywork, creating a tougher and more performance-oriented appearance. This choice aligns with VR46’s objective to project a sharper competitive image as it continues its role as a factory-supported satellite team for Ducati.

Despite the darker base, VR46’s DNA remains unmistakable. Fluorescent yellow accents—synonymous with Rossi throughout his career—are retained as a defining feature, ensuring the bike remains instantly recognisable on track while preserving continuity with the team’s established brand identity.
A strong nod to history is delivered through the return of the iconic Soleluna (sun and moon) symbols. Designed by Aldo Drudi, the legendary graphics appear in metallic gold on the side fairings, reinforcing the emotional connection between Rossi’s personal legacy and the VR46 MotoGP project.

Rider identification is another central element of the 2026 design. The iconic number 46 features prominently as a backdrop on the front fairing, alongside the race numbers of the team’s riders. Fabio di Giannantonio will again compete with number 49, while Franco Morbidelli continues with his familiar number 21. The layout strengthens the team’s collective identity without diluting individual rider presence.

The “Black and Light” concept extends beyond the motorcycle itself. Rider leathers follow the same visual philosophy, using a split-colour design with black on the right side and neon yellow on the left. This approach ensures visual consistency across the entire team presentation, from bike to rider.
The Rome launch also confirmed the continuation of VR46’s partnership with Pertamina and Pertamina Lubricants, who remain title sponsors for a third consecutive season. The sustained collaboration provides commercial stability as VR46 prepares for another highly competitive MotoGP campaign.
Following the unveiling, VR46’s focus now shifts to on-track preparation, with pre-season testing scheduled at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from 3–5 February 2026. Those sessions will provide the first opportunity to evaluate the 2026 Ducati Desmosedici GP package in full race trim, as well as assess how the team’s renewed visual and technical direction translates into performance.
