Johann Zarco is stepping up his training ahead of a planned MotoGP return next month, as seen in an Instagram post showing him riding a supermoto and cycling alongside Dakar star Adrien Van Beveren in Andorra.
The LCR Honda rider has been sidelined since May with serious knee ligament injuries sustained in a Turn 1 pile-up during the restart of the Catalan GP. Training with Van Beveren, known for his endurance in the world's toughest rally, is a positive sign that Zarco's recovery is on track.
Beyond the physical aspect, this collaboration offers a mental boost. Training with a world-class athlete like Van Beveren gives Zarco extra motivation to get back on track, especially knowing he will have to serve a double long lap penalty for causing the incident in Catalunya.

Zarco is expected to make his comeback at Misano, LCR's home round, on 11-13 September. If that happens, the upcoming Aragon event will be Cal Crutchlow's seventh and final MotoGP appearance as Zarco's replacement. Crutchlow has been filling in for the injured Frenchman since May.
Zarco is already confirmed to remain with Lucio Cecchinello's team next season, but his teammate's identity is yet to be decided. HRC has not determined whether current LCR rider Diogo Moreira or new rookie signing David Alonso will join Fabio Quartararo at the factory team for the start of the new 850cc era.
This decision is crucial not only for Zarco but also for Honda's development direction. With his experience and consistency, Zarco could be a great mentor for a young rider while providing valuable feedback for bike development.
