The 2027 Formula Regional European Championship grid is steadily taking shape as several teams confirm crucial driver signings for the upcoming campaign. Three promising rising stars have officially locked down their seats, setting the stage for an intensely competitive junior single-seater season ahead.
Williams Formula 1 junior Sasha Bondarev will transition to R-ace GP for his full-time campaign after showcasing exceptional pace during brief substitute appearances at the end of last season, highlighted by a stunning race victory and podium finish at Imola.
“I am really happy to be joining R-ace GP for my rookie season in FREC, while continuing to be supported by the Williams Racing Driver Academy,” said Sasha Bondarev regarding his upcoming challenge in the highly competitive championship.

Meanwhile, reigning world champion Lando Norris's newly established LN4 Fusion team has made its inaugural driver signing by securing Miguel Costa. The young Brazilian steps up to the squad aiming to make an immediate impact in their maiden racing season.
“From the first time I met them, I could feel how professional and motivated everyone is,” Miguel Costa noted about joining one of the newest and most ambitious setups in single-seater racing.
Completing the latest wave of announcements, Pedro Lima will graduate directly from Van Amersfoort Racing's Formula 4 roster into their FREC lineup for 2027, maintaining valuable continuity with the Dutch squad.
“Stepping up to FREC with VAR next year is a massive step forward in my career,” stated Pedro Lima. VAR team principal Brad Joyce added that retaining the Brazilian's services will provide a distinct advantage as he tackles a brand-new car and championship.
