A disastrous start from Alisha Palmowski paved the way for Peyton Westcott to claim a dramatic victory in the F1 Academy reverse grid race at the Dutch GP. With a flawless launch off the line, Westcott capitalized on the chaos ahead to take the lead and never looked back.
The race at Zandvoort was immediately thrown into turmoil when the lights went out. Palmowski, who leads the championship standings, failed to get off the line and lost valuable positions. Meanwhile, Westcott, starting from further back, made a bold move through the first corner complex and emerged as an early contender.
Despite intense pressure from the chasing pack, Westcott maintained a strong pace and gradually built a comfortable gap. Alba Larsen and Nina Gademen completed the podium after being unable to match Westcott's speed.

This victory is a significant boost for Westcott, while Palmowski will need to put this result behind her quickly as she looks ahead to tomorrow's Feature Race. With pole position already secured, Palmowski has a prime opportunity to bounce back and strengthen her title bid.
The result also adds another twist to the championship battle, with the points gap at the top of the standings set to tighten even further.
