Verstappen himself benefited from the situation. Despite a slower car than McLaren, he held on to second place until the end, denying Norris a podium finish. The disappointment was evident for Norris, but he remained professional in the post-race interviews. Meanwhile, Verstappen enjoyed the moment with a joke at the circuit's expense.
The criticism of Madring isn't limited to Verstappen. Many pundits and fans question F1's decision to add another street circuit that fails to promote wheel-to-wheel action. But regardless of the reactions, Verstappen's statement highlights a real issue: this season's new regulations promised more overtaking, yet Madrid delivered the opposite.

One thing is certain: Verstappen has made a scathing remark that will be remembered. And for Norris, this defeat might hurt more because it wasn't about speed, but about the lack of space to attack.
