Indonesian rising star Veda Ega Pratama wrote a remarkable new chapter in his international racing career by securing a stunning second-place finish at the Moto3 Malaysian Grand Prix 2026 held at the Sepang International Circuit. Starting from eighth on the grid, the Honda Team Asia rider delivered an aggressive and flawless performance from the moment the red lights went out.

The 15-lap encounter immediately ignited with fierce battles at the front. Following a chaotic opening corner incident involving Rivacold Snipers Team rider Jesus Rios, the front group set a blistering pace. Newly crowned 2026 Moto3 World Champion Maximo Quiles, representing the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team, quickly established a comfortable gap at the front to control the race tempo.

Behind the dominant leader, a thrilling multi-rider scrap unfolded for the remaining podium positions. Veda steadily worked his way through the pack, joining a high-stakes tactical duel alongside Alvaro Carpe and local hero Hakim Danish. Positions within the chasing group fluctuated dynamically lap after lap under intense pressure.

As the race entered its dramatic final lap, tension peaked when Hakim Danish briefly surged ahead in the group. However, a brilliant late-braking maneuver through the final complex of corners allowed Veda to expertly outsmart his rivals. The Indonesian prodigy crossed the finish line in second place, +3.734 seconds behind Quiles, narrowly ahead of Carpe and Danish.
