Isack Hadjar has launched a strong critique against his team's technical performance after failing to maximize a promising result at the recent Formula 1 Grand Prix. Starting the race from third place on the grid, the talented driver held a strong chance to fight for a podium finish at the American circuit. However, recurring technical issues once again derailed his race prospects, forcing him to cross the chequered flag in a disappointing sixth position.
The primary issue faced by the French driver materialized right when the race got underway. Max Verstappen similarly struggled at the front, losing second place off the line, while Hadjar also dropped behind the chasing Ferrari cars due to poor power delivery from his starting system.
After reviewing the race start footage, Hadjar insisted that he executed every cockpit procedure perfectly. He firmly believes that the start issues were entirely out of his control, pointing to a clutch malfunction that delivered unexpected power surges, compounded by poor radio coverage from the pit wall that sent him out with the wrong engine map.
Addressing potential solutions, the Red Bull driver asserted that there are no quick fixes available. Consequently, he has demanded that the team completely redesign the clutch assembly, explaining that the current hardware is simply too fragile and fails to cope adequately with high track temperatures.
This setback marks consecutive Grands Prix outside the top five for Hadjar, following a tenth-place finish in Singapore. The team now turns its full attention toward the upcoming Mexico City Grand Prix with hopes of returning to the front-running performance.
