Pramac Yamaha MotoGP racer Toprak Razgatlioglu will miss the remainder of the 2026 MotoGP season after being forced to undergo surgery to repair severe shoulder damage sustained during the Indonesian Grand Prix. The Turkish star is now facing an extensive rehabilitation period to fully recover from the physical toll of his heavy crash.
The trouble began during free practice at Mandalika when Razgatlioglu suffered a violent highside at Turn 13, resulting in a dislocated shoulder. Although he was cleared by the MotoGP medical team to continue the race weekend, he immediately jumped back into action during qualifying and secured 19th place on the starting grid.
He managed to grind through Saturday's sprint race to finish in the same position, but the physical demands proved too much on Sunday, forcing him to retire from the main grand prix after completing just eight laps.

When I woke up this morning, I felt really a lot of pain and the movement was less, explained Razgatlioglu after pulling out of the race. And OK, I got the painkiller, but the pain was not a big problem. The biggest problem is no power after the shoulder came out. I don't feel any power, especially on the brakes.
Subsequent medical evaluations back home in Turkey and a decisive consultation in Milan led to the surgical intervention needed to stabilize the joint. This kicks off a lengthy recovery process reminiscent of the challenges faced by multi-time world champion Marc Marquez earlier in his career.
In the interim, Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez will step in to shoulder the racing duties starting from Phillip Island. Pramac team director Gino Borsoi expressed his full support for the recovering rider while welcoming the experienced Spaniard to the squad.
We are very sorry for Toprak, as we know how much he wanted to race at Phillip Island and continue his journey with the YZR-M1, added Borsoi. His health must come first, and we will support him throughout his recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the bike when he is ready.
