Toprak Razgatlioglu revealed that severe chattering forced him to retire from the 2026 Dutch MotoGP while he was on course for what could have been his strongest premier-class result.
The Prima Pramac Yamaha rider started from the back of the grid following a difficult qualifying session but immediately made significant progress on the opening lap. Razgatlioglu quickly climbed into the top 10 and was running directly behind fellow Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo before his race unravelled.
His challenge came to an end on lap 12 when the motorcycle developed severe chattering through the left-hand corners. Razgatlioglu explained the vibration was unlike a normal chassis oscillation because it failed to disappear under acceleration and instead became progressively worse.

"I started well. After getting into the top 10 everything was going well, but the left side started chattering. I don't understand why. Brad Binder told me he could see the bike, especially through Turn 9, because the chattering was incredible and simply wouldn't stop," Razgatlioglu said.

The Turkish rider tried several adjustments while continuing on track, including changing his braking technique and relying more heavily on the front brake through the left-hand corners. Despite those efforts, the problem persisted and ultimately forced him to return to the garage.
"Normally the chattering stops once you open the throttle, but this time it was different. The bike kept jumping through the left-hand corners. I tried many things to find the problem, but nothing worked, so it was impossible to continue riding and I had to return to the pits," he added.
Before the issue emerged, Razgatlioglu believed he had the pace to fight for a top-10 finish while running the medium rear tyre. He felt capable of overtaking Quartararo and following Enea Bastianini before the vibration completely changed the course of his race.
"Before the problem, the pace was incredible. I was managing the rear tyre and thought I could pass Fabio and follow Enea for a few laps. But once the chattering started, I lost time immediately. I'm really angry because I felt a top-10 finish was possible today," Razgatlioglu concluded.
