Tom Ingram secured a commanding British Touring Car Championship victory at the Brands Hatch GP circuit, boosting his charge for second place in the overall Drivers' Championship standings.
Starting the race from the front, Aiden Moffat experienced a poor getaway from pole position after his Race to Pole success, allowing Ingram to instantly grab the lead through the sweeping Paddock Hill bend.
While the entire field successfully navigated the opening corner without major contact, chaos soon unfolded during the remainder of the first tour. An incident involving Gordon Shedden and Tom Chilton at Druids left the latter's bonnet flying up and remaining stuck for the rest of the lap.

The battle at the front intensified on lap three when Moffat fought back to reclaim the lead. He pulled off a daring move around the outside of Ingram at Westfield, allowing chasing contenders like Josh Cook to close the gap.
Having carefully reserved his hybrid boost for the closing stages, Ingram unleashed his speed at the start of lap 12 to burst into clear air. Moffat's subsequent track limits penalty handed the initiative completely to Ingram as he cruised home to victory.
