Lenovo Ducati Team Manager Davide Tardozzi has firmly rejected paddock speculation suggesting that the development of its 2026 MotoGP machine has been heavily tailored around Marc Marquez to the detriment of other riders on the grid.
The rumours gained momentum as the nine-time world champion comfortably outgunned his stablemates following his return, sitting comfortably as the sole Ducati representative at the sharp end of the championship standings with just five rounds remaining in the campaign.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italy, Tardozzi dismissed the narrative entirely, emphasizing that the Borgo Panigale factory distributes its technical resources fairly and evaluates solutions for every single rider in the lineup.
"I don't agree at all with those who claim Marc Marquez has steered the bike's development towards himself. It's absolutely not true," Tardozzi told Sky Sport Italy, as reported by Motorsport.com.
He further elaborated that accusations of favouritism are nothing more than background noise, noting that riders like Pecco Bagnaia have frequently utilized alternative aerodynamic bodywork and swingarm configurations that differ from Marquez's preferences.
"I've seen what parts have been brought in and what the other riders have chosen, so it's absolutely not true that Marquez has had the bike built for him. That's just paddock gossip," Tardozzi concluded.
Despite a challenging weekend at Mandalika where Aprilia locked out the top four, Ducati's overall damage limitation proved satisfactory as Marquez successfully minimized points loss against his primary championship rivals.
