Drama unfolded at Queensland Raceway as the Sprint Cup finale reshaped the championship picture. Matt Payne of Grove Racing saw his title hopes take a hit after an engine issue forced him out of contention in the final race of the Ipswich Super440.
Payne entered the last race with a 110-point lead but ended up 30 points behind Sprint Cup winner Broc Feeney, who claimed victory in the third race. The dramatic swing has completely altered the momentum heading into the Finals Series.
Behind them, Brodie Kostecki moved up to third, overtaking Cameron Waters. The battle for the final top-10 spot remains intense, with James Golding and Jack Le Brocq trading places.

Golding currently holds 10th place, helped by a fifth-place finish in the closer, building a 55-point gap over Le Brocq. But his spot is not guaranteed—if any driver outside the top 10 wins the Ryco Enduro Cup, they will automatically claim a Finals Series berth.
Anton De Pasquale is the only Chevrolet in the top 10, sitting sixth. Will Brown had a standout weekend with two thirds and a win, but he stays seventh, though he trimmed his deficit from 585 points to 471.
The top 10 drivers for the Finals Series will be decided after the Bathurst 1000 on October 11. The stakes couldn't be higher.
