Looking ahead to the upcoming world championship campaign for production-based motorcycles, Sam Lowes has expressed strong confidence regarding the latest technical shifts within the paddock. As the sole representative rider of the iconic Italian manufacturer to participate in the post-season winter test at the Jerez circuit, the experienced English contender gained a valuable head start in understanding the new rubber.
The private running at the Andalusian venue provided Sam Lowes with a crucial opportunity to directly evaluate the Michelin tires, noting that the rear construction demands a distinctly different riding approach compared to previous specifications. Continuous data gathering throughout the winter testing period remains essential to master these nuances completely.
Reflecting on his transition from the intermediate Grand Prix paddock into the top-tier Superbike category alongside the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team structure, the progression has been steady. Following a challenging rookie campaign and a solid step forward into the top ten in subsequent years, his recent fourth-place finish in the overall standings highlights his growing competitiveness.
Entering his fourth year in the championship, the British rider feels fully prepared to make another major breakthrough. With fresh balancing regulations coming into play and fierce new challengers arriving from the premier class, the competitive landscape promises intense battles on the track.
The technical crew continues to analyze every gathered metric to ensure optimal performance ahead of the opening round. Paddock tension and psychological readiness will play pivotal roles as the winter preparation phase draws to a close.
