Sacha Fenestraz has officially revealed that the iconic Italian outfit has promised him a dedicated Formula 1 track test in 2027. This exciting milestone comes after the driver made a high-profile switch from Mercedes' Brackley headquarters to join Ferrari earlier this summer as their official simulator and development driver.
Speaking to the media during the Super Formula race weekend at Fuji, he shared his excitement about working with such a legendary name in motorsport. While the simulator duties share similarities with his previous stint in Brackley, he noted that experiencing the Italian culture and driving the Maranello simulator opens up incredible new professional opportunities.
He further explained that although a scheduled session was initially planned for the upcoming weeks, it had to be postponed due to a clashing commitment in the Super GT championship at Autopolis. Nevertheless, team management has reassured him that the on-track running will definitely happen as part of his comprehensive development program.

The primary objective behind putting development drivers behind the wheel of a TPC car is to improve simulator correlation and overall feedback accuracy. Given his extensive single-seater background in Japan alongside his previous Formula E experience with Nissan, his technical input remains a vital asset for the engineering group.
As Maranello continues to structure its lineup for upcoming seasons, including young rising stars stepping up through their ranks, the technical department aims to maximize every available resource. According to Motorsport.com, these strategic simulator evaluations play an increasingly crucial role in modern Grand Prix development.
