Red Bull Drops Major Hint Over Isack Hadjar’s 2027 Seat

Red Bull Racing has given a strong indication that Isack Hadjar is likely to be retained for the 2027 Formula 1 season following his consistent performances throughout the year.

Hadjar joined the Milton Keynes-based team this season as Max Verstappen’s team-mate. The French driver became the latest name to occupy Red Bull’s second seat after several predecessors struggled to deliver regular points-scoring results.

Hadjar has provided considerably greater consistency. His top-six finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix marked his seventh consecutive result inside the leading six, strengthening his position in the team’s considerations for next year’s line-up.

“It is good news that we have a strong second driver for the first time in quite a long time,” team principal Laurent Mekies said. “That was also one of our goals prior to this season. Isack is performing solidly and has learned a lot from the team and from Max.”

Hadjar’s contribution has also reduced the performance gap between Red Bull’s two cars. That development is significant for the team, allowing both drivers to compete more consistently near the front and secure stronger points returns.

“It is good news, also for Max, that our two cars are a bit closer together,” Mekies added. “We haven’t discussed the future yet, but everyone can see that Isack is doing an excellent job. So we will make a logical decision.”

Although Mekies stopped short of issuing an official confirmation, his comments reinforce the likelihood that Hadjar will remain with Red Bull in 2027. The final line-up, however, still depends on clarity over Verstappen’s future despite the Dutch driver having a contract in place.
