The competitive landscape of the WorldSBK paddock continues to shift as teams prepare for the upcoming racing season. Following confirmation that they will pass their factory status to another outfit, PTR Triumph is proving its resilience with a bold new operational structure.
Led by Simon Buckmaster, the squad has officially announced a close partnership with British national outfit XMT Racing, culminating in a newly merged entity under the banner of PTR XMT Racing. This major collaboration is specifically designed to establish a comprehensive career ladder aimed at nurturing and promoting young British talent onto the world championship stage.
Simon Buckmaster explained that the partnership grew organically after initial component supplies blossomed into joint operations in the British Supersport series with rider Josh Whatley. Impressive podium results toward the end of the year convinced both parties to permanently combine forces and structures to tackle the challenges ahead.

XMT founder Chris Hicks echoed this enthusiasm, emphasizing that the fusion creates a seamless pathway spanning from national sportbike and Supersport categories straight through to the world championship level alongside two-time world champion Dominique Aegerter.
This strategic move is expected to significantly strengthen the team's technical expertise while bridging the gap between national and international racing platforms, setting a formidable new standard for talent development in the paddock.
