Following the success of F1: The Movie, Netflix is reportedly developing a fictional MotoGP-inspired film, with Hollywood actor Alan Ritchson attached to star. The news broke via Deadline, which reported that the streaming giant has formed a creative partnership with Ritchson, known for his role in Reacher on Amazon Prime.
The first project from this collaboration is an untitled heist thriller set in the world of MotoGP. Ritchson, who also appeared in The Hunger Games and the Fast & Furious franchise, will star and produce through his company, Dancing Skeleton. The screenplay will be written by Chris Morgan, the writer who revitalized the Fast & Furious series with seven films starting from Tokyo Drift.
This news is a breath of fresh air for MotoGP fans. After years of watching on-track action, they will now be treated to a fictional story full of adrenaline. And the good news is that the project has full support from MotoGP. MotoGP, through MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group (formerly Dorna), has signed an agreement to advise and collaborate on the film's development.

Imagine the sensation of Fast & Furious with racing motorcycles. That's the pitch for this project. The initial plot revolves around a gang of motorcycle thieves stealing priceless antiquities worldwide. Interpol then recruits a former MotoGP prodigy (played by Ritchson) to catch them. However, in the middle of the investigation, he realizes that the mastermind is his younger brother, long believed to be dead.
Emotional tension and thrilling racing action seem to be an intriguing combination. Especially with Chris Morgan's involvement, who is adept at turning automotive action into spectacular entertainment. This is clearly not just another racing film, but a thriller that will take audiences into the glamorous and risky world of MotoGP.
For fans, this is a long-awaited moment. After F1: The Movie proved that racing films can succeed on the big screen, it's now MotoGP's turn. Will this film be able to match its predecessor's success? We'll have to wait and see. What is clear is that this collaboration between Netflix, Ritchson, and MotoGP has the potential to become one of the most exciting projects in the automotive entertainment industry.
