The Motocross World Championship is currently navigating its winter break, yet behind-the-scenes activity remains intensely frantic as major manufacturers reshape their racing strategies. A primary focal point of this transitional phase is Yamaha, which is undergoing a massive restructuring of its racing program ahead of the upcoming seasons, effectively altering the competitive landscape in both the premier and intermediate categories. This sudden shift has immediately triggered a widespread domino effect across the entire paddock.
In the MX2 class, the decision by the Japanese manufacturer to withdraw its direct factory team presence has left several rising stars without their previous seats. This predicament heavily impacts the Latvian brothers Janis Reisulis, 18, and Karlis Reisulis, 20, who finished a commendable sixth and seventh respectively in the recently concluded world championship standings. With their previous factory paths abruptly closed due to the termination of collaborations with outfits like Kemea, both riders had to swiftly explore alternative options.
Fortunately, promising new opportunities have emerged swiftly for the talented siblings amidst the manufacturer shuffle. Strong indications now suggest that Janis is poised to make a high-profile switch to the KTM factory setup. He is heavily rumored to step into the Red Bull squad as the brand-new teammate to Simon Langenfelder, securing top-tier machinery for his ongoing career progression.

Meanwhile, the older brother Karlis is also anticipated to secure a competitive competitive environment for the upcoming campaign. Although not slated for the immediate factory roster, reports indicate he is set to be housed within the Dutch Venrooy-Team, where he will be equipped with factory-spec material to continue battling at the sharp end of the fiercely contested intermediate division.
Simultaneously, the Austrian manufacturer has solidified its overarching lineup for the forthcoming season under the De Carli team structure. MXGP mainstay Maxime Renaux will lead the charge in the premier class, while promising young Italian talent Valerio Lata prepares to campaign in the MX2 category, completing a formidable roster ready to challenge for world championship honors.
