The Motoxracing squad will remain a key fixture on the WorldSBK grid for the 2027 season. Team principal Sandro Carusi has opted for absolute continuity by extending the contracts of both Mattia Rato and Twan Smits. Alongside the stable rider lineup, the Italian independent outfit is set to receive significantly enhanced technical support directly from the manufacturer.
Yamaha is slated to supply more up-to-date machinery to the squad, aiming to propel the team into regular points-scoring contention following a demanding previous campaign. The rider pairing stays identical to the combination that finished out the final three race weekends of the prior season, providing immediate operational synergy.
Team boss Carusi emphasized the strategic importance of building upon the foundation established with his riders. Pointing out Rato's noticeable progression during his rookie world championship campaign, the team aims to leverage this mutual understanding to unlock further competitiveness on track.

Rato, who made the jump to the world stage after securing third overall in the 2025 Italian Supersport Championship, expressed sheer delight at retaining his seat. Having broken into the points at Balaton Park and his home round in Cremona, the Italian youngster is eager to capitalize on his rookie learnings for a stronger sophomore year.
On the other side of the garage, Smits prepares for his maiden full-time campaign after stepping up mid-season from European competition to replace Bahattin Sofuoglu. Backed by factory equipment and a familiar technical environment, the Dutch rider is ready to tackle a full calendar.
