Franco Morbidelli alongside fellow Italian riders shared their immediate reactions after Sunday's on-track action in Australia was completely cancelled. The bitter decision came after Race Direction initially considered delaying the premier class race following the cancellation of Moto3 and Moto2 events, but worsening weather conditions ultimately forced organizers to abandon the final day at the historic Phillip Island circuit.
The unexpected cancellation left a bittersweet feeling throughout the paddock. Morbidelli admitted it was a real shame not being able to race in front of the massive crowd that showed up despite the heavy downpour, emphasizing that while safety must always come first, finishing the weekend in such a manner felt disheartening for everyone involved.
Fabio Di Giannantonio, who had previously secured a strong result in the Sprint race, described his emotions during the final parade lap behind the safety car. He noted a deep affection for the venue, adding that seeing the unwavering passion from fans braving the elements made the abrupt farewell even more touching despite the unfortunate circumstances.

Meanwhile, Pecco Bagnaia acknowledged that while the outcome was disappointing for the whole grid, the paddock had no choice but to accept the safety rulings. The Ducati rider highlighted that the unique battles at this iconic track will surely be missed, expressing hope that the championship might return to the circuit in the future.
Adding to the sentiments, Enea Bastianini and Marco Bezzecchi expressed their regret over leaving the venue with an unfinished weekend. According to reports from Motosan.es, the riders agreed that the dedicated fans who stayed at the track under heavy rain truly deserved a better conclusion, though unpredictable weather remains entirely beyond human control.
