MotoGP Heads to Netflix: New Heist Film with Reacher Star

Exciting news from the world of entertainment and racing. After being acquired by Liberty Media, MotoGP is not only focusing on enhancing the spectacle on the track but also starting to venture into the film industry. According to a report from American media outlet Deadline, streaming giant Netflix is reportedly developing a thriller film set in the world of MotoGP, involving renowned actor Alan Ritchson.

The film, which has yet to be titled, is planned to be a reunion between Ritchson and Netflix following the success of War Machine. Interestingly, the MotoGP backdrop is not the main theme but merely a stage for tense heist action. This will be the first project from Ritchson's production company, Dancing Skeleton, in collaboration with Netflix.

Alan Ritchson is no stranger to the entertainment industry. He has played Aquaman in Smallville, starred in Blue Mountain State, and is best known for his role as Jack Reacher in the hit series Reacher. He has also appeared in Hunger Games and Fast & Furious. He is reportedly set to play the lead role in this film.

Behind the scenes, the script will be written by Chris Morgan, famous for writing seven Fast & Furious films. The project also has full support from MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group, formerly known as Dorna. They will act as advisors to ensure authenticity and depth in the storytelling related to the world of motorcycle racing.

The story will center on a group of thieves specializing in stealing vintage motorcycles worldwide. To hunt them down, Interpol calls in a former MotoGP rider played by Ritchson, who was once a prodigy racer. Family conflict also colors the storyline, as the gang's leader turns out to be related to Ritchson's character.

This is not the first time MotoGP has been used as a backdrop for a production. Previously, the film Idolos was released, starring Oscar Casas and Ana Mena, telling the story of a young rider fighting for a spot in the Aspar Moto2 team. With this Netflix film, it is hoped to further expand MotoGP's popularity among global audiences.
