MotoGP has confirmed that Valencia will host the 2027 season finale, with the race scheduled for 26-28 November. This marks the second announcement for the 2027 calendar, following the earlier confirmation that the season will open in Buriram, Thailand, on 5-7 March.
The decision to return to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo for the season closer is hardly surprising. Since the four-stroke era began in 2002, only twice has the final race been held elsewhere, in 2020 and 2024. Valencia has become the traditional home of the season finale, and its atmosphere is hard to match.
MotoGP Deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta expressed his delight. "There are few places that capture the spirit of a MotoGP season finale quite like Circuit Ricardo Tormo," he said. "The circuit, the city and the fans create a truly special atmosphere every year, making it the perfect venue to bring another season of world-class competition to a close. We're delighted to confirm Valencia as the host of the 2027 finale."
The President of the Valencia government, Juanfran Perez Llorca, also welcomed the news. "This is excellent news for Circuit Ricardo Tormo and for the whole of the Valencian Community," he said. "Hosting the final round of the MotoGP World Championship is a tribute to the event organisers and to our fans, who ensure that this Grand Prix continues to grow year on year."
The 2026 season itself will conclude in Valencia on 27-29 November. Originally, the race was scheduled a week earlier, but the conflict in the Middle East forced the Qatar race to be moved to November. Valencia and Portimao were consequently pushed back a week to accommodate the Lusail race as the third-to-last Grand Prix of the season.
Meanwhile, the full 2027 MotoGP calendar will be announced on 25 September. The delay in announcing calendars for most motorsport championships in 2027 is due to the aforementioned Middle Eastern conflict, with international series that typically race in the region waiting as long as possible to see if events can be reasonably scheduled there.
With Valencia now confirmed, fans are eagerly awaiting the rest of the schedule, including whether there will be any new circuits or the return of legendary venues. One thing is certain: the 2027 season promises to be an exciting one, with Buriram opening and Valencia closing.
